In order to obtain a residency visa the government requires that you undergo a medical and blood test.
The procedure and paperwork for this will usually be arranged by your employer.
If your company does not supply a company medical insurance it is a good idea to apply for a health card. Medical treatment is very expensive in Dubai and this card entitles the holder to low cost care at public hospitals and clinics. Application forms can be obtained from any public hospital and the card is valid for one year.
Documents required to obtain a Health Card
- Passport copy.
- Covering letter from sponsor.
- Visa application copy.
- 2 passport size photographs.
- Completed Ministry of Health form.
- Dhs 300/- for health card plus Dhs 200/- for medical examination.
