Household HelpIf you require the services of a fulltime housemaid you will be responsible for arranging sponsorship which costs about Dhs 5,000 per annum. There are also a number of maid services which can arrange drop off and collection and charge about Dhs 20-25 per hour.

Pets & Vets:

Pets and VetsCats and dogs must be kept up to date with their vaccinations and are required to wear a Municipality ID disc. Those found roaming without one are likely to be taken and put down.

Schools & Nurseries

Schools and NurseriesExpats will have to pay fees for the education of their children in both nurseries and schools. The fees are generally very high although there is a wide choice and the teaching standards, facilities and range of extracurricular activities are excellent.
The Ministry of Education makes regular inspections of schools to ensure that standards are being upheld. Most schools require a uniform.
Nurseries: These usually run for 4 hours in the morning and cost between Dhs 3,000-12,000 per year.
Primary Schools: For children aged 4 1/2 -11 years. Hours are from 8am-1pm and fees range from Dhs 10,000-20,000 per annum.
Secondary Schools: For children aged 11-18 years. Hours are from 8am-3pm and fees are between Dhs 15,000 and 45,000
