Dhow Racing |
This traditional Arabic sport is great to watch - there is something enigmatic about wooden dhows gliding gracefully over the water, especially when they race. The vessels are usually 40 - 60ft in length and are either powered by men (up to 100 oarsmen per dhow) or by the wind. Fixed races are held throughout the year as well as on special occasions, such as National Day. Most events are held at Dubai International Marine Club.
